Interpretation is a difficult, delicate task that must be handled by experienced
professionals specializing in your area of expertise. Polyphonia
can advise you on what is most suitable for your specific needs:
|
Simultaneous
interpretation involves at least two interpreters,
who are seated in a special soundproof booth. They wear
headsets and instantly translate what is being said. Each
participant is equipped with a set of earphones and hears
the language he or she chooses. Simultaneous interpretation
is suitable for events involving a rather large number of
participants, such as corporate conventions and conferences.
Polyphonia can make sure you have all the technical equipment
required, depending on your needs. |
Consecutive
interpretation can be used for negotiations or meetings
that require translation in no more than two or three languages.
The interpreter takes notes on what is being said and translates
for the group when the speaker pauses. This type of interpretation
is less complicated but can make a meeting longer.
|
| Whispered
consecutive interpretation is used when only one or
two people need translation. The interpreter sits near them
and "whispers" the
translation of what is being said into the participants' ears. |
